Corporate Social Responsibility in Indian Companies
Client: InWEnt Project Partners: ECCInternational Duration: 01.2008 - 03.2011 The project aims for capacity building in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the regional extension of the training and consultancy services of the Indian CII-Center of Excellence for Sustainable Development (CII-CESD), especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). The Foundation of an International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)
Client: Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety Project Partners: Environmental Policy Research Centre, Free University Berlin (FFU Duration: 02.2008 - 02.2009 Growing global energy consumption, constantly rising prices for energy and partly disastrous impacts of climate change allude clearly to a rapid expansion of renewable energies worldwide. In commission of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, Adelphi supports the ambitions of the German Federal Government to found an International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). As a first step, a preparatory conference with 170 participants from 60 countries took place in the German Foreign Office in Berlin from 9 -11 April 2008. Evaluation of the Export Helpdesk for Developing Countries
Client: European Commission, DG Trade Duration: 11.2006 – 07.2007 Adelphi Consult has been commissioned by the Directorate General for Trade (DG Trade) to evaluate the Export Helpdesk for Developing Countries (http://export-help.cec.eu.int). The free online service offers comprehensive information on import and trade issues for exporters from developing countries planning to access the EU market. The focus of the investigation is on assessing reliability, completeness and user-friendliness of the Export Helpdesk, and on evaluating its impact as well as awareness of its availability. The findings will provide the basis for practical suggestions for further improvement of the service. more |
Development and spreading of innovative and competitive technologies and services in the environmental field within the scope of the Lisbon Strategy as a challenge for the state and industry

The objective of the workshop is to strengthen the European ETAP Process and to upgrade the German contribution to the ETAP Process. The workshop will take place in the beginning of 2007 in Berlin. At the workshop, new initiatives will be presented, particularly initiatives of the Federal States, and potential future actions will be identified. Possibilities of coordination and promotion of environmental technologies in Germany will be discussed. more |
SME Environment Promotion Programme
Client: GTZ - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit Duration: 08.2006 - 12.2006 One of the main challenges for the Egyptian development is the improvement of income and employment opportunities especially among the poorer population. In December 2005 the SME Promotion Programme started, conducted by the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) in partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry. The programme activities are financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. Adelphi Consult supports the programme with providing guidance on international experiences on environmental sector promotion, encouraging the technical know-how-transfer form German companies and assists in developing an implementation strategy. more |
Strategy of Internationalisation of Partslife
Duration: 09.2006 - 07.2007 Partslife, the disposal system on the automotive parts sector is based in Langen (Hessen) and was founded in 1995 by manufacturers of automotive parts and trade cooperations. Adelphi Consult supports Partslife in their systematic development of partnership “Partslife Europe” until the middle of 2007 in three additional European countries with short analyses concerning the state of implementation of the EU Directives End of Life Vehicles Directive (ELV), Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (WEEE) and the regulation on packaging. Adelphi Consult makes market analyses in selected countries. “Sustainable Campus Manipal Academy of Higher Education”
Client: GTZ ASEM (Advisory Services in Environmental Management) Duration: 04.2006 – 12.2007 The project aims to support the transition of the Deemed University of Manipal in Karnataka/ India to a sustainable campus. The project takes a two-winged approach: Catalysing the establishment of an ISO 14001 certified environmental management system on campus will directly impact the academy’s resource use and environmental performance, while promoting the setup of a study scheme on environmental management serves to multiply environmental management capacities beyond the campus itself. more |
Addressing the Interlinkages between Natural Resource Management and Conflict in the European Commissions’ External Relations
Client: Ecorys Evaluation Consortium for the European Commission Duration: 09.2006 - 03.2007 Natural resources and conflicts are interlinked in a variety of ways. On the one hand, conflicts might arise over natural resources, while on the other hand the cooperative and sustainable management of them may act as confidence building measure contributing to peacebuilding. The aims of the evaluation are threefold: first, to give detailed insight into the current position and application of FAST International products by different user groups. Its biannual award scheme aims to promote locally-led entrepreneurial and innovative project cooperations between private sector, public authorities, non-governmental and labour organisations and other initiatives, through capacity-building, expert assistance and practical input rather than a one-off financial endowment. more |

EU-India Network of Women Entrepreneurs
Client: InWEnt gGmbH, EC Delegation India Duration: 05.2005 - 12.2006 Adelphi Consult is managing the EU networking venture and is assisting the entrepreneurs through training and coaching courses in India and Germany. The aim of the network is to enable entrepreneurs from the food and garment industries, by means of targeted training courses, to produce environmentally friendly and internationally competitive products, and thus facilitate access to new markets. Moreover, the European-Indian cooperation and strengthening of trade and business relations between India and the EU are promoted in a sustainable manner. In addition to providing training for Indian women export consultants and entrepreneurs in the export sector, this project also foresees the actual market introduction of particularly promising products in Germany. Towards Convergence - Strengthening Environmental Policy and Law in the Southern Caucasus
Client: Inwent - Capacity Building International Duration: 02.2005 - 03.2007 InWEnt and Adelphi Research are initiating a three year training programme on convergence with EU environmental law in Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. Two training courses per year will be conducted on selected priority areas in environmental policy and law in order to strengthen the regulatory capacity and overall administrative capacity of the respective environment ministries and subordinate bodies in the Southern Caucasus states. These training programmes will be subsequently developed with the partner institutions in each of the three Caucasus states and are to be embedded in a broader assistance framework to help these countries comply with major environmental legislation of the European Union (EU).
